Broncos' Rahim Moore suffers leg injury

By on 11/19/2013 06:23:00 AM

The Denver Broncos got the win in the big Showdown last Sunday night against the Chiefs, but not without a few injuries. Wes Welker suffered a concussion and his status for this week is unknown, Julius Thomas suffered a knee strain and is day to day, but the big one is safety Rahim Moore.  He underwent an emergency surgery yesterday for bleeding in his lower leg, the condition is called lateral compartment syndrome. If it is not taken care of it can take a limb or even your life, so it is a very scary time for Rahim Moore.

Moore is out indefinitely with no set timetable for a return. This is a big loss for the Broncos defense, Moore was rated as the 8th best coverage safety this year by Pro Football Focus. The Broncos, who are already without Champ Bailey in their secondary face the Patriots this Sunday night in New England. The Patriots are coming off a loss to the Panthers on a controversial call at the end of the game, so you can bet the Patriots will be fired up about this one.

As it stands right now in the AFC playoff picture the Broncos would be the one seed and with the loss last night the Patriots would drop down to the three seed, so this week will be a very important game for both teams. With Moore out and Champ Bailey questionable, look for the Patriots offense to attack the secondary of the Broncos. It looks like it will be another Tom Brady vs Peyton Manning showdown on national television.
