Bengals’ Tyler Eifert suffers neck stinger Sunday

By on 12/23/2013 01:00:00 PM

Cincinnati Bengals rookie tight end, Tyler Eifert, left midway through the first quarter of the Bengals' 42-14 pasting of the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Eifert, who left the field with his arm dangling by his side, with what was believed to be a wrist or elbow injury, turned out to be a neck stinger.

Bengals' bloodhound, Joe Reedy, via his official twitter account:

The boy from Notre Dame returned for a few more plays but was declared out after he could not continue.  Eifert had one reception for six yards before his day was cut short.

TE is having a fine rookie season with 39 receptions for 445 yards and two touchdowns.  Eifert started all 15 games this season for the Cincy Cats.

Eifert's status for Sunday's regular season finale is unclear.
