The Buccaneers head into New Orleans in Week 17, ruled by nothing other than an opportunity to wreck the Saints' playoff hopes. They may be without a few defensive starters, which could further damage the slim odds of an upset on Sunday.
Strong safety Mark Barron was limited in practice by a hamstring and is considered questionable. Linebackers Dekoda Watson (groin) and Ka'Lial Glaud (knee) are also game-time decisions for Sunday.
Defensive tackle Akeem Spence (wrist) and linebacker Lavonte David (elbow) practiced fully and are expected to make the start Sunday.
The Bucs placed defensive end Da'Quan Bowers (knee) on injured reserve and guard Carl Nicks (foot) has been ruled out yet again.
Drew Brees and the Saints' offense is a tall task for any defense, even having lost three out of their last four. The injuries the Bucs have on defense will make for a very thin defensive unit, going against an offense that is outstanding at finding mismatches all over the field.
Add into the mix a Superdome crowd that will try to push the Saints into the playoffs on an 8-0 home record and the Bucs' banged up defense will have to step in a big way to hang with the Saints on Sunday.
