Canucks' Alex Burrows undergoes successful jaw surgery; out indefinitely

Forward, Alexandre Burrows, of the Vancouver Canucks has been reported to be out indefinitely after suffering a fractured jaw, midway through the second period in Carolina.

In an attempt to clear the puck, teammate Chris Tanev hit Burrows directly in the face resulting in him immediately skating to the locker room. Burrows returned in the third period later finding out it was a fractured jaw.

Burrows had successful surgery Monday and is now in the recovery process. "It's a big blow for us" Coach Tortorella stated in hopes Burrows will be back in a month.The 32-year-old recently returned from a foot injury, which has only allowed him to play 17 games this season. Alex Burrows has recorded just 3 assists in a rough season he will soon want to forget.

Vancouver is 5th in the Pacific division with a season record of 17-10-5, as of December 7th. TheCanucks are led in scoring by Center Ryan Kesler with  14 goals and 8 assists.
