Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald suffers concussion against Titans

By on 12/16/2013 12:08:00 AM

Arizona Cardinals All-Pro wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald left Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans in the fourth quarter after sustaining a concussion, according to's Chris Wesseling. The injury occurred while Fitzgerald was attempting to recover an onside kick. He did not return to the game.

While Fitzgerald was sidelined prior to the game going into overtime, the Cardinals managed to squeeze by the Titans with a 37-34 victory on the road. Unfortunately for Arizona fans though, it is currently unknown whether Fitzgerald will be available for next week’s game. He will be subject to the NFL’s mandatory concussion protocol before he will be allowed to return to the field. While Fitzgerald does not have an extensive history of concussions, this is his third verified concussion since the 2010 season.

Fantasy football enthusiasts will want to keep a close eye on Fitzgerald’s practice participation throughout this week as many owners are heading into their championship week. Obviously the Cardinals have a difficult week ahead of them on the road against the division-rival Seattle Seahawks, but the Cardinals’ superstar continues to be a must-start receiver in most formats and should be the focal point for Bruce Arians’ offense for the remainder of the fantasy season.
