The Kansas City Chiefs are monitoring the health of wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and linebacker Tamba Hali and hoping they will be back for their playoff game this weekend against the Colts. Bowe has been dealing with a concussion that he suffered last week and Hali has been dealing with a sore knee. Both players were held out of last weeks game due to their injuries, but the Chiefs rested their starters anyway so they probably wouldn't of played even if they were healthy.
Head coach Andy Reid said yesterday during his press conference that Bowe is making progress and will practice today, the fact that he is practicing is a good sign for his status this weekend. Reid also went on to say that the inflammation in Hali's knee has gone down, but wouldn't commit on whether he would practice today or not. Bowe and Hali are very important to this team, Bowe is probably the second best weapon on offense behind Jamaal Charles and quarterback Alex Smith loves to go to Bowe on third downs. Hali is very important because the Chiefs defense is at its best when they are getting after the quarterback, with Justin Houston back already the Chiefs could have their pass rushers back against the Colts.
I expect both Dwayne Bowe and Tamba Hali to play against the Colts because it's the playoffs and this is what they have been playing for all year. They both have had an extra week off to recover from their injuries to help get them ready for this week. If the Chiefs are going to win this game they will need both of them healthy and the Chiefs are hoping to turn their playoff fortunes around, they have lost seven straight playoff games.
