Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said Tuesday that linebacker Sean Lee will be back on the field for Monday night's matchup with the Chicago Bears, according to ESPN Dallas.
Lee has missed the last two games after pulling his left hamstring November 10th in a demoralizing 49-17 loss at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. Lee was looking at a three-to-four week timetable before he could play again, but increased his rehab in an attempt to speed up his recovery.
Lee returning this week is really the best case scenario for the Cowboys. Dallas and the Philadelphia Eagles are currently locked in a tie for first place in the NFC East with 7-5 records. The two teams play each other in the season finale December 29th in what could be the Cowboys' third straight appearance in the "NFC East Championship Game."
Despite missing their second leading tackler on their 27th ranked run defense, the Cowboys went 2-0 without Lee.
