Like a train out of Penn Station during rush hour, seats are running low on the New York Giants injured reserve list.
Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk reports that safety Cooper Taylor is the latest addition to the Giants IR after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury. Taylor also missed three games earlier in the season with a shoulder injury.
The Giants selected Taylor in the fifth round of last April's draft. Taylor played in 10 games this season, primarily on special teams. In those 10 games Taylor had a very quiet season, recording only four tackles, but had his 15 seconds of fame when he returned a blocked punt for a touchdown against the Oakland Raiders.
Taylor's void on the roster will be filled by guard Eric Herman who has been promoted from the Giants practice squad. Herman, a seventh-round pick in this year's draft, could see a lot of playing time Sunday with fellow offensive linemen David Diehl and Brandon Mosley both nursing injuries.
