According to Adam Stites of BigCatCountry.com, the Jacksonville Jaguars have placed defensive linemen Brandon Deaderick on the injured reserve, signing defensive tackle Kyle Love in the process.
Deaderick suffered a dislocated elbow in Sunday's 20-16 loss to AFC South rivals, the Tennessee Titans. Deaderick played in 13 games for the Jaguars this season, but was largely ineffective. He totaled nine tackles, 0.5 sacks, and one forced fumble this season.
The Jaguars are familiar with Love, as the defensive tackle spent the majority of the preseason with the Cats, ultimately being released after finishing training camp and making final cuts. Love has also spent time with the Patriots and Chiefs this season, and has attempted to play throughout his career with a medical report that carries a diagnosis of type-2 diabetes.
Starting cornerback Dwayne Gratz could miss Sunday's finale against the Indianapolis Colts. He is listed as questionable on the team's injury report with a sprained ankle, and will more than likely miss the game.
The Jaguars have proven their mettle in the second half of the 2013 season, and now have eyes firmly set on improving through the draft and free agency for the 2014 season.
