Steven Stamkos from the Tampa Bay Lightning has taken the ice this week for the first time since breaking his leg about a month ago. Stamkos broke his tibia when crashing into the net on November 11th, 2013 against the Boston Bruins.
espn.go.com did an interview and Stamkos said, "Obviously that one, the first time in front of cameras. Everyone got a glimpse of that. It's kind of baby steps right now. To be able to get back on the ice, to be out there when the guys are coming for morning skate, pass the puck with some of the guys, you miss that part. Things are definitely on the right track."
Stamkos is improving ahead of schedule and when he got the x-rays at the four week mark last week the results it showed just that. He will continue training slowly as well as getting x-rays every two weeks. The team hopes to see him return to the ice sooner then later but the estimation date for now is early February.
