Steve Smith calls injury sprain. MRI Monday. Not looking past Christmas.Smith had a catch of 44 yards before being forced to leave with the knee injury. Without Smith, Ted Ginn Jr. and Greg Olsen were leaned on more heavily in the passing game.

Steve Smith is essential to the Panthers' vertical attack and it couldn't be a more crucial time, as the Panthers clinched a playoff berth with the win. Smith saying the injury is a sprain is all fine and good, but the results of the MRI will really speak to how long the Panthers can expect to be without Smith, if any game time is missed.
