Tennessee Titans' Week 16 Injury Report: David Stewart, Chris Johnson, Alterraun Verner

By on 12/21/2013 07:00:00 AM

At 5-9, The Tennessee Titans have fallen out of the wild card picture, and are now playing for their coach's future. Mike Munchak is on the hot seat again, with the last two games of the season playing a pivotal role in deciding his future.

When speaking of injuries, the Titans are relatively healthy. True, their starting quarterback is on the injured reserve, but in the big picture, a lack of offensive firepower and not injuries is the reason they are losing games.

Cornerback Coty Sensabaugh is the only player deemed "out" for the game, with tackle David Stewart listed as questionable after not practicing this week.

Star cornerback Alterraun Verner is listed as probable on the report, but has practiced all week and is slated to suit up. Verner has been a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks this season. Via Pro Football Focus (subscription required), quarterbacks have a measly 48.6 quarterback rating when targeting Verner. He has been stingy to say the least.

The NFL's 20th ranked rushing attack will prepare for division rival Jacksonville at less than 100% this Sunday, as running back Chris Johnson and center Brian Schwenke are beset by knee and ankle injuries, respectively. Both are expected to play after being full participants in Friday's practice.
