Earlier today the Montreal Canadiens Twitter page announced that Forward Alex Galchenyuk will miss approximately six weeks after sustaining a fractured hand last night against the Florida Panthers. Galchenyuk left halfway through the first period to get some preparations but returned a little later in the second. He only played a little over ten minutes when he usually averages fifteen minutes per game.
It is not said who the Habs will call up with Galchenyuk out for six weeks, Ryan White out for two weeks and George Parros out indefinitely but it looks an extra forward or two will be needed.
So far this season Galchenyuk has ten goals, thirteen assists averaging around fifteen minutes of ice time per game.
