Raptors' Tyler Hansbrough out in win over Wizards

The Toronto Raptors defeated the Washington Wizards on Friday night by the score of 101-88 to move to 16-15 on the season. They did so without the services of backup power forward Tyler Hansbrough, who is out with a ankle injury.

Rotoworld.com reported a tweet by the official Toronto Raptors media relations Twitter account a few hours before the game about Hansbrough's status.
Hansbrough aggravated his ankle sprain during Wednesday's victory over the Indiana Pacers.  It was clearly evident that his ankle has been bothering him of late, as his minutes have declined to a little over 13 per game over the last five games.

Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes saw the bulk of the minutes off the bench at the power forward position against the Wizards. Patterson scored 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting and Hayes added two points and two rebounds, in 11 minutes of action. Expect Patterson and Hayes to continue to see increased playing time should Hansbrough miss any more games.

Hansbrough is in his fifth season out of North Carolina.  He averaged 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game as a rookie in 2009-2010. The following season Hansbrough averaged a career high 11 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. His offensive production has declined each season since and this season is averaging only 5.5 pints and 5 rebounds per game.
