The Tampa Bay Rays said that they will make a "significant baseball-related announcement" today.
Speculation was that it could be about David Price, but that wasn't it.

The Rays are signing right-handed pitcher Grant Balfour, according to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal. Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports says that the deal is for two-years and worth $12 million.

Balfour originally agreed to a deal with the Baltimore Orioles, but it was never completed due to concerns about his knee and wrist, but Balfour denied their concerns. The Rays appear to agree with Balfour and are about to land an All-Star caliber reliever.

Last season with the Oakland Athletics, the 36-year-old Balfour went 1-3 with a 2.59 ERA and a 72/27 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
