Minnesota Wild's captain Mikko Koivu underwent ankle surgery after breaking his ankle Saturday night blocking a shot against the Washington Capitals. The captain is expected to miss at least a month of play recovering from the injury. In a way fans also think this could hurt team Finland when the Olympics come around, but for now his status remains questionable.

In 44 games played this season Koivu has eight goals and twenty-seven assists averaging around twenty three minutes of ice time per game.
