The Philadelphia 76ers are coming off a 125-99 blowout loss to the Atlanta Hawks last night. The loss dropped the 76ers to 15-32, fourth in the Atlantic Division. Things will not get any easier for the 76ers tonight against the Detroit Pistons. Rookie Michael-Carter Williams will miss the game due to soreness in his right shoulder.

As reported by Scott Held of, Carter-Williams was scratched 45 minutes before the game and Tony Wroten took his place in the starting lineup.  The 76ers are only 1-10 in games that Carter-Williams has missed this season.

Although Carter-Williams leads all rookies in scoring, rebounds, assists and steals, he has missed over 20 percent of the team's games this season. Wroten comes into the game averaging 12.4 points per game and has done a good job in general filling in for Carter-Williams.

Michael Carter-Williams was the 76ers' first round draft pick this season out of Syracuse.  The rookie has dazzled and shows that he will be a star player for years to come. But he's also shown that he's a rookie, turning the ball over too much (3.3 per game) and shooting only 40.2 percent from the floor. He is averaging 17.2 points, 6.6 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game this season.
