The arthritic knee was likely a factor in why Kouandjio was so slow in the NFL Scouting Combine's 40-yard dash Saturday where he ran a 5.53. Kouandjio's question marks about his health could cause his draft stock to suffer. The 6'6" 311 pound offensive tackle was considered a first-round talent after his final season at Alabama. There is no denying Kouandjio's size and talent, but the risk of injury may cause teams to shy away from making an investment in him that early in the draft.
Bad news for #Bama OT Cyrus Kouandjio. I’m told several teams have failed him on his physical. Arthritic knee from failed surgery. “Ugly.”In addition to his disappointing showing in the 40-yard dash, Kouandjio also had his shortcomings in the 225-pound bench press. Kouandjio put up just 21 repetitions which is very low for a player with his size and strength.
