The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday by the score of 120-113.  The win was the Hawks' second in a row to move them to 25-21, second in the Southeast Division.  With the good news came some bad news on Monday as the team announced that guard John Jenkins will miss the rest of the season.

As reported by Adi Joseph of USA Today, the second-year guard had surgery on his lower back, ending his 2013-2014 season.  He has not played much this season due to back and leg injuries and is averaging 3.1 points, 1.7 rebounds and 12.2 minutes in just 13 games this season.

With Jenkins out, the Hawks will continue with Kyle Korver and Jeff Teague as the starters, with Lou Williams, Shelvin Mack and Dennis Schroder off the bench.

Jenkins was selected with the 23rd pick of the 2012 draft out of Vanderbilt.  He averaged 6.1 points on 44.6 percent shooting in 14.8 minutes per game last season. In 74 career games, Jenkins is averaging 5.6 points per game.
