Hawks' Jeff Teague returns in win over Knicks

The Atlanta Hawks defeated the New York Knicks last night by the score of 107-98. The win moved the Hawks into a third-place tie with the Charlotte Bobcats in the Southeast Division. The Hawks saw the return of guard Jeff Teague, who missed Friday's game against the Pistons with an ankle injury.

Keith Allison  via Wikimedia Commons reported that Teague returned from his ankle sprain and scored 28 points, added six assists, three rebounds and a 3-pointer against the Knicks.  He was aggressive going to the basket, apparently not bothered at all with the sore ankle.  Teague finished 7-of-12 from the floor and 13-of-15 from the free throw line.  Although he had a minor tweak of the ankle in the opening quarter, it did not appear to affect him throughout the game and should be ready to go against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.

The Hawks went with a 3-guard lineup of Teague, Shelvin Mack and Kyle Korver with Louis Williams and Dennis Schroder coming off the bench. With the depth that Hawks have at guard, there will be no problems giving Teague a rest should his ankle flare up.
Teague is in his fifth season out of Wake Forest.  He has increased his offensive production each season in the NBA, averaging 15.7 points per game this season. He's also added 7.1 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game. Teague has a career scoring average of ten points in 339 games.
