Knicks' Iman Shumpert leaves game with sprained left knee

The New York Knicks have been looking to ship off Iman Shumpert before the trade deadline occurs in hopes of improving their squad.

After leaving the game Wednesday night and being diagnosed with a sprained left knee, those hopes may have gone south.

The New York Knicks' PR account tweeted out the injury update during the game.

This is the same knee that Shumpert had surgery on to repair his torn ACL. With the deadline looming and a season that needs revival, that does not spell good news for the Knicks.

However, there is no information on the severity of the issue. Shumpert did need help getting off the court, but beat writers are not sure if Shumpert will even need an MRI. The team announced that Shumpert will head back to New York before getting re-evaluated.

Hopefully things turn out for the better and there is nothing severe. Shumpert has been one of the few bright spots for this Knicks squad and is probably their biggest trade piece.

For the season, Shumpert is averaging 7.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in 27.0 minutes per game.

  1. Good grief, I was looking so-o forward to Darren Collison and good-bye to Felton, as his wife said today.

  2. I was kinda looking forward to Collison too, he sure would've been an upgrade.
Funny how Shump always tends to get hurt when it looks like he might get traded.
