On Friday, the Chicago Cubs' Nate Schierholtz was sent home due to a collision in the outfield with Junior Lake during a drill, according to Carrie Muskat of MLB.com.

Rick Renteria points out that it was precautionary and is hoping for Nate to be back Saturday.

The Cubs were in the middle of fly-ball drills when the incident occurred in shallow right field.

Muskat says Renteria went on to explain, “They were both calling for the ball, and it sounds  like Junior may have gotten him with the backside. You’re talking about two strong men.”

Lake came into the Cubs organization as a third-basemen and converted to the outfield due to his speed and lack of talent in the outfield.

Schierholtz is projected to be the Opening Day right fielder.
