Nuggets' guard Ty Lawson returns in win over Clippers

The Denver Nuggets snapped a two-game losing streak last night with a 116-115 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.  Randy Foye hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer to move the Nuggets back to .500 at 23-23.  The game also saw the return of Nuggets' guard Ty Lawson, who missed the last two games due to injury.

Keith Allison via Wikimedia Commons reported that Lawson played 45 minutes in his return to the lineup on Monday, scoring 27 points with six rebounds, four assists and three steals.  The only downside was the Lawson turned the ball over five times.  He missed the previous two games dues to a left rotator cuff injury.

Evan Fournier, who had been starting in Lawson's absence, returned to his bench role.  Fournier has only a point, two rebounds and an assists in nine minutes of action.

Kenneth Faried led the Nuggets with 28 points on 11-of-13 shooting from the floor and 6-of-8 from the free throw line.

With Nate Robinson out for the season and Andre Miller out due to personal reasons, expect Foye and Lawson to continue to get the bulk of the minutes in the back court, with Fournier spelling the two as needed.

Lawson, in his fifth season out of North Carolina, is averaging 18.1 points and 8.8 assists per game this season.
