Nuggets' Wilson Chandler out tonight with sprained knee

By on 2/27/2014 07:30:00 PM

Denver Nuggets small forward Wilson Chandler will not suit up tonight against the Brooklyn Nets. It is unclear as to how Chandler sustained the injury, but he has been declared out with a sprained right knee according to Aaron J. Lopez on Twitter.

It's most likely that he suffered the injury on Tuesday night against the Trail Blazers. Chandler only played 26 minutes, going 3-of-12 from the field with seven points and eight rebounds.

With Chandler out, small forward Quincy Miller will most likely take his position in the starting lineup. Expect guards Evan Fournier and Randy Foye to play extended minutes as their starting point guard Ty Lawson will also not suit up for tonight's contest. The Nuggets next game is on Saturday night in Portland, in which Chandler should be considered questionable.

In 48 games this season, Chandler is averaging 13.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 31.1 minutes per game.

For the Nuggets to make a late push for the playoffs, they need to find a way to stay healthy, something they've had trouble with all season. JaVale McGee remains out for the season, Nate Robinson hasn't played since January 29th and Lawson has missed seven straight games with a rib injury.

The Nuggets have started 15 different players this season.

Denver sits 11th in the Western Conference with a record of 25-31.
