Looking for additional pitching depth, the Tampa Bay Rays are reportedly close to adding veteran Erik Bedard on a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Soon to be 35-year old, the Canadian finished fifth in the Cy Young race for the Baltimore Orioles in 2007 Jeremy Hellickson to elbow surgery while leading the American League with 10.9 K/9. The Rays are speculated to be in the hunt for pitching reinforcements after recently losing starter
