With the announcement that DeMarcus Ware signed a 3-year deal with the Denver Broncos the Cowboys need a huge pump up. They are looking to make a statement during the free agency period and are reportedly looking closely at Chicago's Defensive Tackle Henry Melton. Fortunately for them he is interested reports Mike Dyce of

Henry’s from Dallas, he played for [Marinelli], obviously there would be interest from Henry’s side — but who knows at this point?" Melton’s agent, Jordan Woy, said.

Melton is currently in negotiations with the Bears who want him to stay with the franchise. He has been with the squad for the last five years. The DT tore his ACL during Chicago's third game of the season against Pittsburgh September of last year. Reportedly the franchise has been a little hesitant in re-signing Melton despite his being one of their best defensive players. This makes him even more attractive to other organizations like Dallas who are in the process of rebuilding.

Melton's agent; Jordan Woy, says the DT has been working hard to recover from the injury that ended the 2013 season for him and is on schedule with rehab. The 27-year old will likely be ready to participate in training camp exercises.

With successful recovery and rehab Melton appears to be in good form for the upcoming season. The Bears trying to hang on to as many of their free agents as possible may have to contend with the Cowboys in order to keep the top-tier DT on their roster.
