AA: Janssen “felt something grab” on 10th warmup pitch Friday night in MTL, thought he could pitch through it. MRI showed “mild strain."Toronto placed Janssen on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 29, making him eligible to return April 12. According to Drew Silva of HardballTalk.com, Sergio Santos will handle the closer's job in Janssen's absence.

Santos, 30, who spent four months on the DL in 2013 with an elbow injury, made 29 appearances for the Blue Jays, with eight holds, two blown saves, an ERA of 1.75, and a WHIP of 0.584. He struck out 26 with only 4 walks. Although he has not closed for Toronto, he saved 30 games for the Chicago White Sox in 2011. Santos is under team control through 2015.
