BREAKING: Heat's LeBron James will not play against Celtics

By on 3/19/2014 07:07:00 PM

Miami Heat forward LeBron James has been named a late scratch in their contest against the Celtics tonight due to back spasms, according to the Heat on Twitter. It is likely that Michael Beasley will take his place in the starting lineup at the small forward position.

James had a huge game last night against his former team. He played 42 minutes, adding 43 points, three blocks and two steals in a turnover free game. The Heat beat the Cavaliers 100-96.

James has been carrying the load in Miami for the majority of this month. Since his 61 point performance against the Bobcats, he has not played like the MVP we are accustomed to seeing. It seems evident that the wear and tear is beginning to take it's toll on him.

In 63 games this season, James is averaging 27.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 37.6 minutes per game.

With James out, the Heat will be looking for Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers to do the brunt of the work. In the latest development, Dwyane Wade who was declared a game-time decision will be ready to go for tip-off at 7:30 EST.
