Clippers' Jamal Crawford not expected to suit up tonight against Suns

Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard Jamal Crawford is not expected to play tonight against the Suns due to a strained left calf. Crawford missed the Clippers last game and remains questionable for the week ahead, according to Dan Woike on Twitter.

Crawford got injured during the second quarter in last Wednesday's win against the Rockets, he did not return for the second half. In Crawford's one and only absence this season, the Clippers pummeled the Pelicans 108-76 this past Saturday, with shooting guard Willie Green leading the way off the bench with 29 minutes.

The Clippers have had a tough run this season concerning their injury report. Chris Paul missed a large chunk of the season with a shoulder injury. Matt Barnes missed time with a retinal tear in his left eye. And J.J. Redick has not played since February 3rd due to a bulging disc in his lower back.

No one can say coach Doc Rivers has had it easy, because he hasn't. And he knows that in order for this team to be successful, Crawford needs to be on the court.

In 60 games this season, Crawford is averaging 19.0 points (2.4 three-pointers) and 3.2 assists in 30.7 minutes per game.

With Crawford likely to miss his second straight game, backup point guard Darren Collison will be expected to start. While Green should anticipate to see a lot more minutes again at the shooting guard position.

The Clippers are fourth in the Western Conference with a record of 41-20.
