Habs Carey Price will miss Wednesday's game against Boston

The Montreal Canadiens have announced that their starting goalie Carey Price will not be ready to return on Wednesday night when the Habs take on the Boston Bruins.

It has been said that Price was injured during the Sochi Olympics. There are conflicting reports if he has an injured knee or groin...whatever the case is he has yet to play a game for the Habs since returning from the Olympics.

Price returned to the ice on February 26th post-Olympic break. He only practiced for a good five minutes before leaving the ice. At first it was expected he was having equipment issues but when he did not return, it was not a good sign.

He was only expected to miss back-to-back games (Wednesday against Detroit and Thursday against Pittsburgh) as the injury was minor. For precaution the team called Dustin Tokarski to serve as Peter Budaj's backup goalie and to ensure that Price got the rest he needed.

Price did not skate for eight days, which was another concern for the team. When he started skating he was only practicing twenty minutes a day. Even though he was on the Californian road trip with the team he did not play any of the games.

He returned to practice Tuesday morning at the Bell Centre with his teammates and took part in official practice. Coach Michel Therrien said it is a step in the right direction but he will not play against Boston. It will only be revealed tomorrow morning after practice who will get the green light to start; either Tokarski or Budaj.
