Habs send Michael Bournival to Bulldogs

Earlier today the Montreal Canadiens released a statement saying that they assigned forward Michael Bournival to the Hamilton Bulldogs for extra conditioning.

Bournival who has been on the Montreal Canadiens for the entire season so far. He has been in and out of the line-up, being a healthy scratch...and drawing in the line-up when needed.

At the beginning of February he suffered a concussion after he was accidentally clipped in the face by one of his teammates stick during a game against the Vancouver Canucks. He headed to the dressing room to get evaluated and despite saying he was okay, the doctors did not allow him to return.

Everyone expected him to return on Saturday night (the final game before the Olympic break), but the doctors wanted to give him a few days rest in case any symptoms occured.

The bad news turned worse once the practices resumed Bournival was still not on the ice. Turns out the symptoms were worse then the Habs expected. He spent a few days training with the team but was only cleared for contact earlier this week. Now that he was cleared the team thought it would be best to send him to Hamilton on a conditioning stint.

Conditioning Stint cannot last longer then fourteen days. After those days the player must return to the NHL or be placed on waivers to remain with the affiliate.

So far this season Bournival has played 50 games, he has 6 goals and 7 assists.
