Heat's Dwyane Wade ruled out against Cavaliers

By on 3/18/2014 07:01:00 PM

Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade will be held out of action tonight against the Cavaliers due to precautionary reasons, according to the Miami Heat on Twitter.

With Wade not suiting up tonight, backup Toney Douglas should get the start along with Ray Allen getting the majority of the minutes off the bench. The Cavs will be shorthanded tonight without Kyrie Irving and Luol Deng, so Wade's service may not be needed. Along with Douglas expected to start tonight, Greg Oden will get his second straight start at center.

Wade and the Heat enter the final stretch of the season, and the most important thing for the defending two-time champs is to enter the tournament healthy.

If Wade can keep his knee issues under check and be full throttle for the playoffs - watch out. Because a healthy Heat squad will be the biggest obstacle any team can face come playoff time.

The Heat are currently second in the Eastern Conference with a record of 45-19.
