Kings' DeMarcus Cousins will not play against Timberwolves

Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins will not suit up tonight against the Timberwolves due to tendinitis in his right knee, according to Jason Jones on Twitter.

The news comes to rather a surprise after his big performance against the Bulls last night. He scored 25 points, adding 14 rebounds and four steals while showing no signs of a knee problem.

With Cousins out, it is likely Jason Thompson will get the start. Expect power forwards Reggie Evans and Derrick Williams to pick up a lot of extra minutes of the bench. Cousins is listed as day-to-day, with his status uncertain for their next game on Tuesday night against the Wizards.

Cousins has played in 57 games this season for the Kings. He is averaging 22.2 points, 11.7 points and 1.5 steals in 32.2 minutes per game.

The Kings are 13th in the Western Conference with a record of 23-43.
