The Dallas Mavericks lost to the Brooklyn Nets in overtime on Sunday by the score of 107-104. The loss dropped the Mavericks to  42-29, fourth in the Southwest Division and eight in the Western Conference.  The Mavericks played all but one minute without point guard Jose Calderon, who got hit in the mouth early in the game.

As reported by Dwain Price of Full-Court Press at, Calderon's status for the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder is uncertain after being hit in the mouth by Nets center Mason Plumlee. Coach Rick Carlisle isn't overly concerned.

“I don’t think it’s serious, but I have not gotten an official word on it. He got hit in the mouth -- I don’t really have the details. I saw him at halftime, he was in the locker room at halftime. He’s OK, but I think there’s some stuff in his mouth they’re looking at.’’
Devin Harris saw the majority of the time at point guard with Calderon out.  Harris had 11 points in 40 minutes, but shot only 4-of-11 from the floor, committed four turnover and had five personal fouls. Shane Larkin played 13 minutes at the point and had five points.  Expect Harris and Larkin to share time at the point should Calderon be unable to go on Tuesday.

Calderon, the 32-year old from Spain, is in his 9th NBA season.  In his first season with the Mavericks, he is averaging 11 points and 4.8 assists per game. In 623 career games with the Raptors, Pistons and Mavericks, Calderon is averaging 10.2 points and 6.9 assists per game.Read more here:
