The Phoenix Suns, who have surprised the league with their strong play in a tough Western Conference, are expecting to have point guard Eric Bledsoe back within the next week. Bledsoe went down on December 30th with a knee injury and then underwent arthroscopic surgery on January 10th.

In the last five days, Bledsoe has now participated in three, full five-on-five scrimmages.

According to Paul Coro of AZCentral, Bledsoe has impressed his teammates and coach during this time and has had no issues with his knee.
Bledsoe received glowing reviews for his play in closed scrimmaging from Coach Jeff Hornacek and teammates who he expressed appreciation for getting him ready during the season’s dog days. Bledsoe has been sore from conditioning but there have been no issues with the right knee that underwent surgery.
Paul Coro also reports that Bledsoe is expected to return no later than next Wednesday.

For the season, Bledsoe has played in just 24 games. In that span, he averaged 18.0 points and 5.8 assists in 33.5 minutes a game, all of which are career-highs for the young point guard.
