Bobcats' Al Jefferson ruled out for game 4 against Heat

By on 4/28/2014 05:58:00 PM

Charlotte Bobcats center Al Jefferson will not play tonight in game four against the Heat, according to Rick Bonnell on Twitter. Jefferson is suffering from a left injury and likely done for the remainder of the series, regardless if the Bobcats win tonight or not.

As reported earlier today, Jefferson has been struggling mightily of late with a torn plantar fascia in his left foot. In game three, Jefferson was limping up and down the court throughout the entire game and was in obvious pain. He scored 20 points and added five rebounds and three blocks in 30 minutes played.

Bismack Biyombo will get the start at center tonight in Jefferson's place. In this first round series, Biyombo has only played a total of 16 minutes off the bench. Expect backup Cody Zeller to contribute a lot of minutes as the primary backup at the center and power forward position.

Jefferson has been the biggest reason why the Bobcats have been so successful this season, and his presence on the court will not be matched by Charlotte's backups. Expect the Bobcats to mix up their lineup throughout the night to find a groove were they will be able to excel in. But either way they will have their hands full, and Miami will be licking their chops as they will prepare to sweep the Bobcats in Charlotte tonight.
