Clippers' Hedo Turkoglu needs MRI on back following injury

The Los Angeles Clippers took a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven series against the Golden State Warriors with a 113-103 win on Tuesday night. The Clippers got a game-high 25 points from DeAndre Jordan and 20 points from Chris Paul. A bit of concerning news for the Clippers was that forward Hedo Turkoglu had to leave the game in the third quarter with a back injury.

As reported by Arash Markazi of, Turkoglu suffered a lower back contusion during the third quarter of Tuesday's game.  The injury occurred when Turkoglu took a charge from David Lee with 7:47 left in the third.  Turkoglu was in obvious during the timeout following the injury.  He we helped back to the locker room and will be re-evaluated sometime today. His status for Game 6 on Thursday is currently unknown.

Turkoglu is a 14-year NBA veteran who has played for the Kings, Spurs, Magic, Raptors, Suns and Clippers.  In 38 games this season, Turkoglu averaged three points and 2.3 rebounds, in 10.3 minutes per game.  He's averaging 3.2 points in 8.2 minutes per game this post season.  In 935 career regular season games, Turkoglu is averaging 11.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
