Coyotes' Mike Smith has no timetable for his return

By on 4/05/2014 05:30:00 PM

The Phoenix Coyotes have announced that Mike Smith does not have a timetable set for his return after being sidelined a couple of weeks ago with a Lower Body Injury.

Smith has been sidelined with a lower body injury since sustaining it on March 24th during a game against the New York Rangers. Smith has been skating for the past few days and on Friday he even took a few shots from his fellow teammates.

Phoenix Coach Dave Tippett said that Smith will be re-evaluated at the end of this weekend and they will have a better knowledge on his timetable for when he will be able to return.

"He continues to improve. But no timetable yet," Tippett said.

Until his return the focus for the team is to get the final playoff spot in the Western Division. The team is one point ahead of the Dallas Stars...but the Dallas Stars have a game in hand. Every point counts for the two teams and especially for the Coyotes back-up goalie Tomas Greiss, who is helping the teams hopes stay alive.
