Lightning's Steven Stamkos to play game 4, Ben Bishop out longer

The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced that Steven Stamkos is expected to be in the line-up following last night's head on knee collision with Montreal Canadiens defenseman, Alexei Emelin.

Stamkos left near the end of the second period on Sunday night after getting a knee to the head. Before leaving the ice with help from the training staff, he tried to get up on his own but stumbled several times. He made his way to the room and then joined the team for the third period.

After the game he told the media he played through a headache.

This morning after practice Stamkos said, “I tried to shake it off,” Stamkos said. “Games like this, you don’t want to miss any time. I want to be out there as much as I can to help our team win.”

This morning he was feeling good and is expected to return to the ice for game four on Tuesday night at the Bell Centre. If anything changes it will probably be closer to game time.

For goaltender Ben Bishop, he skated with his coach at the Bell Centre before his teammates practiced on Monday morning. He was taking light shots and is expected to return to practice later this week with his teammates if the series prolongs.
