The New York Mets lost to the Washington Nationals on Wednesday by the score of 5-1. The Mets were only able to get three hits off Nationals starter Gio GonzalezBartolo Colon allowed three runs and nine hits in six innings to get the loss.  The Mets are 0-2 on the season and finish their three game series with the Nationals this afternoon.  On top of the loss came bad news on the injury front. Outfielder Chris Young left the game with a right quad strain, as was reported by our own JacobF. Young was placed on the 15-day disabled list due to the injury. reported that Young aggravated the quad in his first start of the season on Wednesday. The injury happened early and Young did not get an at bat.  Andrew Brown  replaced Young in left field and went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.   Young is hoping to be able to return from the DL as soon as his time is up, but expect the timetable to be more around three weeks.

Young was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 2001 and made his Major League debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006.  An All-Star in 2008, Young has played for the Diamondbacks, A's and Mets.
