Pelicans' Tyreke Evans exits with knee injury in loss to Thunder

The New Orleans Pelicans season-long struggles continued with 116-94 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday. The loss was the seventh straight for the Pelicans, who dropped to 32-47 on the season. The Pelicans were playing without Jrue Holiday, Anthony Davis, Eric Gordon, Ryan Anderson and Jason Smith. To make matters worse, small forward Tyreke Evans left the game with a knee injury after scoring 13 points in 21 minutes.

Jennifer Hale, NBA sideline reporter for FOX Sports, tweeted the following on Evans' injury during last night's game.

With Evans out, Anthony Morrow and Austin Rivers saw additional playing time. Rivers had 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists in 40 minutes. Morrow had five points on just 1-of-9 shooting from the floor in 24 minutes.

Evans is in his fifth season out of Memphis. In his first season with the Pelicans, he is averaging 14 points, 4.9 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game. Evans' scoring output and playing time has decreased every season in the league.  As a rookie, he averaged 20.1 points in 37.2 minutes per game.  In 326 career games, Evans is averaging 16.7 points and 4.9 assists per game.
