Phillies' Ben Revere not in lineup for 3rd straight game

By on 4/13/2014 07:45:00 PM

According to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com Ben Revere is not in the lineup for the third consecutive game due to sore ribs.

Although it is known that Revere is dealing with rib issues, general manager Ruben Amaro said, “I think he’s OK to play. Tony (Gwynn) is playing good.  (Ryno) is playing the hot hand, I guess.”

Revere, 25, is 12 for 44 this season with 3 runs batted in, 5 stolen bases, and 9 strikeouts in 12 games. He was acquired in a trade that sent Vance Worley and Trevor May to Minnesota while Philadelphia hopes he is their center fielder for years to come.

In 2013, Revere batted for a slash of .305/.338/.690 with 17 runs batted in, 22 stolen bases, wile playing in just 88 games. He dealt with a broken foot last year where he missed a significant amount of time.

Revere pinched hit Sunday and went 0 for 1, so it seems like Revere has lost his job for at least right now.

If any more information comes out, we will update you.
