Rockies' Tyler Chatwood hopes to be in rotation for April 13th

Tyler Chatwood has had an interesting few weeks.  While trying to stretch a hit in to a triple during Spring Training, the pitcher injured his hamstring.  The Colorado Rockies thought it would heal quickly but before they knew it, Chatwood was placed on the DL & missed the Opener.  It's not a serious injury though & it looks like Chatwood will be back soon.  Troy Renck of the Denver Post tweets:

Chatwood has seemingly had his schedule changed on a weekly basis.  It seems as though I am writing an article once a week to update Chatwood's status and every time, his next start is pushed back again.  His replacement in the rotation pitched last night, Jordan Lyles, and the Rockies were able to pick up a victory so the Rockies are likely not too rushed to bring him back.

Chatwood gave up just five home run last season in 111.1 innings of work.  He averages just over five innings per start and will hopefully stretch that out this season.  He went 8-5 with a 3.15 ERA in 2013.  Stay tuned to Sports Injury Alert for future updates.
