Spurs' Manu Ginobili banged up in loss to Timberwolves

San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobili exited last night's game early after suffering a left calf contusion, according to Jeff McDonald on Twitter. He did not return to action.

The severity of the injury was unclear, but everyone was mostly concentrated on how badly the Timberwolves dismantled the NBA's best Spurs. Ginobili only played 15 minutes, adding seven points and two rebounds. The game was essentially over by halftime as Minnesota cruised to a 110-91 victory.
"They beat us in every facet of the game . . . They basically forced us to lay an egg. We were awful and a lot of it was because of their aggressiveness." said Spurs coach Gregg Popovich after the game

It's unlikely that the contusion will keep Ginobili out of action, but with only four games left in the regular season there may not a purpose in rushing him back in. San Antonio's next game is on Thursday night against the Mavericks in Dallas.

The loss drops San Antonio to 60-18. They remain as first seed in the Western Conference with a three-and-a-half game lead over the Thunder.
