Suns' Goran Dragic questionable tonight against Spurs

By on 4/11/2014 08:30:00 AM

Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic will be questionable tonight in their matchup against the San Antonio Spurs with a sprained left ankle, according to the Arizona Republic.

Dragic has not missed any games with the injury, but he has improved since their last game against Pelicans on Wednesday night. In a 94-88 victory, Dragic scored 20 points and dished out nine assists in 39 minutes played. With the playoffs on the cusp, he will most definitely want to play, but the Suns coaching staff will not want to push their star guard if he is not ready.
"I think [Dragic] will want to play . . . It'll be a question with him, 'Do you think you can go and go hard or is it going to aggravate it more?'" said Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek

In 74 games this season, Dragic is averaging 20.5 points and 5.3 assists on 50.9 percent shooting in 35.0 minutes per game. If Dragic is unable to go, expect Gerald Green to get the start at shooting guard.

The Suns are currently seventh in the Western Conference with a record of 47-31. The Dallas Mavericks are behind in eighth on percentage points with a record of 48-32. The Grizzlies are on the outside looking in with a record of 46-32.

  1. Not a good time to have the Dragon out. They just announced he will not be playing. We better hope Green goes off, Bledsoe plays well and the Morris brothers are doing their thing to have a chance.

  2. Suns are choking. Several games they have had big leads, only to blow them and lose. The Morris twins are inconsistent and will never be any better than average. Green needs an attitude adjustment; very immature facial expressions that only draw the ire of the officials. Although he gets hot from time to time, his poor shot selection costs the rest of the team and he can't handle the rock. Frye will never be anything more than a decent 3 point shooter; the guy has a hard time posting up smaller players. I hope Plum Dog is hurt, because he needs an excuse to explain his poor play. Bledsoe gets lazy with the ball; turnovers, forced shots. Lin is overrated. Trade either Green, Bledsoe or Dragic, and, trade 1 or both the Morris's. In need of a true power fwd and a legit bigman. Coach deserves blame also; his team has blown many big leads this year.
