The Montreal Canadiens are headed to New York for game 3 and 4 of the semi-finals. It may be good news for the New York Rangers, as they might see the return of Derick Brassard earlier then expected.

Brassard left during game one on Saturday afternoon in the first period when he was hit by Habs defenseman Mike Weaver. After the game Brassard was a day-to-day. He could have played game 2 in Montreal on Monday night but did not feel right.

The injury is an undisclosed injury. There is speculation it is an upper-body/shoulder injury.

Early Wednesday morning, Brassard skated with his teammates. He is still day-to day but inching closer to returning to the game. There is a good possibility that return could be sooner then expected.

He was asked about it and answered, "Ah, it’s a good question,"  "If the game would be tonight, I don’t know. I’d have to talk with everyone. I don’t know."

In the post-season, Brassard has 4 goals and 3 assists.
