Mark Teixeira is not in the lineup. Girardi says it is left groin tightness but a low-level concern; hopes to have him back tomorrow.

Teixeira is hitting .266/.383/.557. He leads the team with seven home runs and is second with 16 RBI as play begins on May 12. He provides a big bat that the team missed last year when he played in just 15 games because of injuries.
The strain does not look serious, and manager Joe Girardi expects to have him back in the lineup on Tuesday. That would serve the Yankees well as Teixeira is hitting .300 with 4 HR and 10 RBI in his last ten games.
