As reported by Alden Gonzlaez of MLB.com, Skaggs threw 45 pitches prior to Sunday's game and felt good, saying he is ready to go. He will likely start on Wednesday against the Chicago White Sox.
Skaggs is 4-4 with a 4.34 ERA in 12 starts this season. He pitched parts of the last two seasons with the Arizona Diamondacks and was 3-6 is 13 appearances. Skaggs has a career record of 7-10 with a 4.85 ERA.
As for Salas, who was placed on the disabled list on June 15 with right shoulder irritation, he threw 25 pitches consisting of fast balls and breaking balls. He didn't report soreness after the session and plans to throw again on Tuesday. The next step would be to face live batters.
Salas is in his 5th Major League season and first with the Angels. He is 4-0 with a 2.96 ERA in 28 games this season. In 215 career games, Salas 10-13 with 24 saves and a 3.36 ERA.
