As reported by Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com, Skaggs threw a scheduled bullpen session on Wednesday before the game was postponed. Skaggs was please with how he felt and hopes to face batters in a simulated game on Saturday. Skaggs has been on the disabled list with a right hamstring strain and could return to the Angels' rotation next week, barring any setbacks.
Skaggs is in his first season with the Angels after making 13 appearances over the past two seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 12 starts this season, Skaggs is 4-4 with a 4.34 ERA. He has a career record of 7-10 with a 4.85 ERA.
In other injury news, Salas, who was placed on the disabled list three days ago with inflammation in his right shoulder, felt better after recently receiving a cortisone injection. The Angels will likely have an MRI done on his shoulder when the team returns from their road trip on Friday.
In 28 games this season, Salas is 4-0 with a 2.96 ERA. He's allowed 25 hits and 11 walks, while striking out 28 in 27 1/3 innings pitched. Salas , who has pitched for the Cardinals and Angels, has a career record of 10-13, with 24 saves and a 3.36 ERA.
