Athletics Injury Update: Josh Reddick, Kyle Blanks

The Oakland A's lost to the New York Mets on Tuesday by the score of 10-1. Even with the blowout loss, the A's are at 47-30 and hold a four game lead over the Los Angeles Angels in the American League West. Yoenis Cespedes went 2-for-4 and drove in the only run for the A's. Josh Reddick returned to the lineup and went 0-for-2 with a walk. In other injury news, Kyle Blanks was placed on the disabled list.

Jane Lee, who covers the A's for, tweeted the following updates on Reddick and Blanks.
Our own Darius Austin reported on June 23 that Blanks left the previous game after straining his calf attempting to score from third base on an infield ground ball.

Blanks, in his sixth Major League season, is batting .333 with two home runs and seven RBI with the A's this season, and .309 overall with the San Diego Padres and the A's.  In 260 career games, he has a batting average of .234 with 30 home runs and 105 RBI.

As for Reddick, he had been on the disabled list with a hyperextended knee since June 3 and had been rehabbing in Sacramento since June 18.

In 51 games this season, Reddick is batting .212 with four home runs and 22 RBI. The veteran in his sixth Major League season, has a career batting average of .236 with 58 home runs and 200 RBI.
